Hi friend,

In honor of National Report Medicare Fraud Day, I want to take a moment to share why protecting Medicare is so important:

Medicare is a vital government program that provides millions of Floridians access to affordable health care coverage — but each year, it loses roughly $60 billion due to fraud, errors, and abuse.

The system we have in place is not perfect, friend — I know that firsthand. As my mom's primary caretaker, I know how complicated it can be to navigate the Medicare system. It makes ensuring my mom can age with dignity and comfort that much more challenging.

But I also know the critical role it plays in my mom's life and in the lives of our seniors across the country.

That's the thing, friend: We need to invest in these vital government programs, not cut them down or take advantage of them. And if Rick Scott had it his way, that's exactly what he'd do (or continue doing).

Rick Scott is a scammer and a thief who's responsible for one of the largest Medicare fraud scandals in U.S. history. To add insult to injury, he then went on to write the plan to DEFUND Medicare — a plan that would put the lives of millions at risk.

It's devastating and, frankly, disgusting how someone would put their own profit and personal gain above the lives of real people. I've spent my career fighting to expand health care access for Americans and to protect our seniors, and I am sick and tired of seeing politicians like Rick Scott make these selfish decisions.

Expanding access to Medicare is one of my highest priorities, friend — and I plan on protecting it when I defeat Rick Scott in November. There are too many Floridians who rely on Medicare for us to let a guy who led one of the largest Medicare-related fraud scandal gut it.

So I'm personally asking, friend: Will you chip in $5 — or whatever you can spare before midnight tonight — to help me reach my $150,000 goal, defeat Rick Scott, and keep the Senate blue?

Debbie
