Just announced: analysis of the Supreme Court's first-ever live broadcast of oral arguments and new Town Halls added As Supreme Court oral arguments air live for the first time in history May 4-13, the National Constitution Center will convene top scholars to provide live commentary on C-SPAN immediately following the network’s live audio broadcast. Join us each day for in-depth analysis as President and CEO Jeffrey Rosen and experts on both sides unpack the major constitutional and legal issues in each argument. Check out the full schedule here. LEARN MORE Virtual Town Hall: The Coronavirus and the Law: A Conversation with Two State Attorneys General May 5 | 7 P.M. E.D.T. Join National Association of Attorneys General President and Montana Attorney General Tim Fox and New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal for a bipartisan discussion about the role and function of state attorneys general in the coronavirus crisis. The conversation will explore how states are addressing a variety of legal issues relating to the crisis, including religious freedom, the Second Amendment, and criminal justice. Jeffrey Rosen, president and CEO of the National Constitution Center, moderates. This program is available for 1.0 substantive CLE credit. This program is presented in partnership with the National Association of Attorneys General. REGISTER HERE Virtual Town Hall: Separate: The Story of Plessy v. Ferguson May 18 | 12 P.M. E.D.T Exactly 124 years after the infamous Plessy v. Ferguson decision, the National Constitution Center presents a virtual Town Hall program exploring the story of a nation that embraced “separation," and its consequences. Join Risa Goluboff, dean of the University of Virginia School of Law, Steve Luxenberg, associate editor at The Washington Post and author of Separate: The Story of Plessy v. Ferguson, and America’s Journey from Slavery to Segregation, and Theodore Shaw, professor of law and director of the UNC Center for Civil Rights at UNC School of Law as they discuss. This program is available for 1.0 substantive CLE credit. REGISTER HERE In-person programs have been suspended while the National Constitution Center building is closed. Join a Remote Learning Program In the Center's Scholar Exchanges, students are connected with a constitutional scholar for a virtual interactive class about the Constitution. All sessions are available via Zoom and can be accessed from home computer, laptop, or phone. View the full schedule here. This month we are helping students prepare for the AP Government and Politics exam with sessions on America’s founding documents on May 1 and 8. Plus, special guest Emily Bazelon joins Jeffrey Rosen on May 15 for a conversation on the Constitution and the 2020 election. Teachers can also request a private exchange to be held with a scholar and just their classes. To schedule, teachers can fill out this form and someone from the Center will help arrange. Private sessions take place on Mondays and Tuesdays.
