The City is calling on property owners and managers to submit sites available for purchase or lease that could serve as shelters through a Request for Information (RFI). Interested parties have until Monday, October 7th, at 4:30 PM, to submit the RFI. Questions and comments must be submitted via email no later than 4:30 PM on Friday, September 20th, to [email protected].

San Diego is grateful for Assistant Fire Chief David Gerboth’s 30+ years of invaluable service and leadership benefitting the Fire Department, lifeguards, and communities. Chief Gerboth leaves a lasting positive impact, and we thank him for his service. Congratulations, on this next chapter serving as Fire Chief for the City of Salem in Oregon.

The repair of Del Mar Heights Road will begin this fall with an asphalt overlay from Landsdale west to El Camino Real. The segment east of Landsdale just received a fresh slurry seal to increase its longevity. Please continue filling out Get It Done reports on roads that need repairs via the app.

Sunday, September 8th, was Grandparents’ Day in San Diego! This is extra special for me as a first-time grandfather to my granddaughter Olivia. Watching her grow is an incredible joy. Grandparents inspire, mentor, and bridge generations. Thank you to all the grandparents in San Diego for your important role in our families and communities.
