Hello John,

With all the terrible economic policies coming out of Washington, it's easy to
feel like nothing we do can change things. But complacency isn't an option when
the American Dream is slipping away.

When AFP opened a new chapter in Wyoming, a high school student named Carson
Daughtry jumped at the chance to volunteer. He's emerged as a leader, engaging
his community on key policy areas championed by AFP Wyoming, including
education reforms that empower families and initiatives to boost energy
production in the state.

Initially, he felt uncertain speaking to voters at his first phone-banking
session. But through AFP’s training and support, Carson gained confidence and
began effectively engaging his community.

“AFP has really helped me speak up about what I believe in. It feels great to
know that even as a student, I can make a difference in my community,” Carson
shared.

Through AFP, Carson found the opportunity to raise his voice and advocate for
policies that could reignite the American Dream in his community. But he didn’t
stop there—he encouraged his peers to get involved and join the movement as
well.

In the winter of 2023, Carson and his peers noticed their teachers
increasingly inserting political opinions into classroom discussions. He was
surprised by how apathetic his classmates were toward government and politics,
especially since he had always stayed politically informed.

Carson developed a passion for grassroots activism, and he knew his friends
would too—they just needed a nudge.

Each week, Carson brought a new friend to volunteer, and soon AFP-Wyoming grew
from one high school activist to a strong team of dedicated volunteers, thanks
to Carson's efforts.

Are you ready to make a difference in your community like Carson? By joining
AFP as a volunteer, you'll have the tools, training, and support to hold
Washington accountable and fight for policies that reignite the American Dream.
