Dear Daily Kos Community,

There’s so much on my mind, and I can’t wait to share it all with you. But
first things first—let me introduce myself. My name is Dacia Mitchell, and
earlier this year, I had the honor of stepping into the role of president of
Daily Kos. And what an incredible and historic time to do so!

As I step into this new chapter with Daily Kos, I’m reminded of the strength
and determination that has always run in my family, especially as we recently
came together to honor my grandmother, a woman who continues to inspire me
every day.

Grandma was a fierce Minnesotan who cast her final vote just days before her
passing, and yes, she voted for Tim Walz and Peggy Flanagan. She would be proud
to see Kamala Harris, a strong and capable leader, as our nominee for
president, just as I know she would be proud to see me as a leader at Daily
Kos, the site that has blazed a path for the Democratic voice for over 22 years.

We’re now in the home stretch of the election, and we have a chance to elect
the first Black and South Asian woman as the 47th president of the United
States.

Our mission has never been more urgent. At Daily Kos, we cut through the
nonsense to deliver progressive news with a purpose. We are the No. 1 platform
for sharing stories and resources to elect not only more Democrats but better
Democrats.

I look forward to connecting with you and working together to ensure democracy
doesn’t just survive but thrives—for you, for me, for our grandmothers, and for
our grandchildren.
