I’m guessing you got involved in this campaign for the same reason that I did: you believe that election outcomes have real consequences.

I prefer to focus on the positive — and get the message out about all the progress we can make if we win this November. We can protect and restore abortion rights, reduce costs for hardworking families, and continue working to keep our communities safe from violence.

But I also know that the consequences of losing this race would be profound. The Kansas GOP has outlined exactly what they want to do if they get unchecked power: an all-out abortion ban, a ban on same-sex marriage, and restrictions on who can access health care through Medicaid.

And as the only elected Democrat in Kansas at the federal level, I’m a big obstacle to their extreme agenda — which is why so many extremist groups are rallying behind my opponent in this battleground district.

I know it’s stressful how close and competitive this race is. But I don’t back down from tough fights, and I’m counting on you not to back down either. This is our moment — will you pitch in to help me spread the message about my campaign and win re-election in this critical swing district?
