Dear John,
A couple of weeks ago, I asked you to sign this petition to protect mature and old-growth trees: [[link removed]]
And wow—you've been speaking up in droves! Nearly 1,000 of you have signed our petition to call on the U.S. Forest Service to create stronger rules to protect these special places.
I’ll be straight with you: we need more. The U.S. Forest Service must hear that their plan to protect old-growth and mature forests falls short. The plan continues to prioritize commercial logging rather than protecting these ancient trees.
Will you sign our petition and share it with five friends before the September 20 deadline? Take action here: [[link removed]]
Old-growth and mature forests store more than 10% of America's greenhouse gas emissions. These forests are not just beautiful—they are one of our most powerful allies in the fight against climate change. Additionally, they provide critical habitat for wildlife, protect water quality, and offer recreational spaces for future generations.
I’ve seen the impact of commercial logging in places like Wisconsin’s Northwoods. Our forests are too valuable to be left vulnerable. Will you help protect them?
Thank you for standing with us to ensure our oldest forests get the protections they deserve.

P.S. Time is running out! The USFS is still accepting public comments, but we need to act quickly to ensure our voices are heard.
