There have been a number of major updates in our campaign, so I wanted to take a moment to update you directly. Some of these updates are a bit concerning, but it's important to me that you're kept in the loop.

Our race was featured in the New York Times and called one of the few House contests in the country that "could decide Congress." With less than 2 months until Election Day, CA-27 is still considered a toss up.

Last week, my opponent Mike Garcia landed in the headlines for running deceptive TV ads. He falsely claimed to support the Violence Against Women Act, and we're working around the clock to correct the record.

We got word that an outside super PAC supporting Garcia committed $2 million in advertising to boost his campaign in the 11th hour. This takes the total sum of outside spending against us to $10 million. That's a staggering sum.

The end of this month marks our final quarterly FEC fundraising deadline before Election Day. I can't stress how urgent it is that we show widespread grassroots support and prove we have the power to unseat Garcia.
