Just this week, the Israeli military dropped 2,000-pound U.S. bombs on a densely populated so-called “humanitarian zone,” killing entire families. This genocide has cost the lives of at least 40,000 Palestinians, without even counting those who have died of starvation and disease caused by the lack of humanitarian aid.
Polling shows that Democrats, Independents, and young people in key battleground states are much more likely to support Vice President Harris for President if she and the Democratic Party embrace an arms embargo to Israel that will help save lives and end the genocide.
Current polling shows a neck and neck race in Michigan.
In this week’s presidential debate, the candidates were asked how they’d end the war in Gaza and this was a chance for Vice President Harris to affirm she’ll follow the US Leahy Laws that prohibit sending arms to human rights abusers, enforce international laws that prevent war crimes, and support an arms embargo to prevent the Israeli government from killing more civilians with US weapons. For us to ensure a win in Michigan, we need the Biden/Harris administration to urgently change course in order to end this genocide now.
As we know, the road to the White House runs through Michigan. The Harris campaign must embrace the super majority of Democratic voters who support a ceasefire and an arms embargo.
