Craig Holden and coauthors examine unplanned readmission rates in military health facilities. They find a significant reduction in seven-day readmission rates for medical and surgical services in fiscal years 2011–18, consistent with broad efforts in the health care system to reduce readmissions. A CLOSER LOOKVirginia Medicaid Expansion

More than 300,000 adults in Virginia have enrolled in the state’s Medicaid expansion. A paper in Health Affairs from June 2018 provided a systematic review of the effects of Medicaid expansion, including increases in coverage and quality of care.
