Dear John,

As the dust settled on the monumental blow you helped deliver to the Conservatives at the general election, we picked up our shovels and started digging through the data. What we found was astonishing. And we're ready to share it with you, the people that helped make it happen.

This really was the tactical voting election. 17% of voters, around five million people, voted tactically. More than six million checked our advice on who to vote for at GetVoting.org, and 43% of all voters saw information about tactical voting during the election online, in the press, or on billboards in their constituency.

We estimate that 91 Labour and Liberal Democrat MPs owe their wins to people like you  who tactically voted in their area, and there were 21 constituencies where the advice on GetVoting.org made the difference between a progressive and a Conservative win. Without tactical voting, we'd still be saddled with Liz Truss, Grant Shapps, Penny Mordaunt and Thérèse Coffey as MPs. 

I'm incredibly proud of Best for Britain's part in making this happen, but most importantly I want to take the opportunity to thank you, our supporters, as well as everyone who has worked with us, taken part in our campaigns and helped us along the way. 

Our mission is not over by any means. We now have a Parliament with more pro-European MPs than ever - but there are still too many that must be shown why the deal with Europe needs to be fixed. Our greatest impact is yet to come, as we look to apply pressure on the new UK government and parliamentarians from other parties, to fix the problems Britain faces after Brexit. We’ll let you know how to contact your new MP on these issues in the coming weeks.

Tactical voting got us this far. We're now putting all our energy into getting the new government to back our 114 fixes to the Brexit deal. After delivering such an astounding defeat for the Conservatives (and keeping Reform UK out of parliament), I can't wait to see what else we can achieve together.
