Tell the Taliban, I SURVIVED.

This is Army CPT Sam Brown. In 2008 the Taliban set an ambush for my team and me.

My humvee hit a roadside bomb and we were plunged into battle.

I was immediately drenched in diesel and doused in flames.

While bullets were whizzing past him, my gunner put out the flames covering my body.

10 more seconds of burning, and I wouldn’t be writing this message. 

By the grace of God and my gunner's bravery, I made it through.

But not without some scars, as you may be able to tell (that’s me in the picture).

It’s true that I sacrificed a great deal in service to my country. But it’s nothing compared to those who made the ULTIMATE sacrifice and never came home. 

Look, Friend, I want to level with you.

I’m also a dyed-in-the-wool Conservative and always have been. I’ll always stand for our flag and our troops.

I'm not running for money or fame. In fact, I'd prefer to keep to myself –but I'll do whatever it takes to SAVE our country.
