Events



→ Team Wittman had a fantastic week traveling around the district, visiting
every GOP committee meeting and doing some doorknocking. A big thank you to
Poquoson, York, Henrico, Northumberland and many more for welcoming us at your
meetings! We always enjoy connecting with our community and hearing your
concerns both at the doors and in the committees.



→ Last Thursday, Team Wittman had a great meet and greet with our hosts
Delegate Scott Wyatt, Supervisor Jordan Stewart, Delegate Amanda Batten, and
State Senator Ryan McDougle. Special thank you to Mo and Sandi Gauthier for
their incredible hospitality at their beautiful vineyard!



→ This past Saturday we had a great York Super Saturday! Thank you to everyone
who hit the doors with us and spread the word about the upcoming election on
November 5th!



→ On Sunday Team Wittman joined the Henrico GOP at their BBQ. Thank you to Cam
Modecki for inviting us to speak!



→ Our signs are going up! We are starting to put up 4x8’s all over the
district! If you have a location for a 4x4 or 4x8 Rob Wittman for Congress sign

→ Congressman Wittman is seeking interns for the 2024 election season to serve
on his campaign team. This year will be an exciting campaign, and we need
committed interns ready to work for America’s First District.



Rob Wittman is service minded, results driven, and focused on leading the
district and the country forward. Continuing to get things done for the people
he serves, we are looking for committed interns who want to join the momentum.
This internship will teach you a variety of skills and be a launchpad into your
future career. It is a great fit for team players who enjoy working with others
to accomplish goals larger than themselves.

This week's News highlights with Rob Wittman!



→ The Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party's Critical Minerals
Policy Working Group, led by Rep. Rob Wittman (R-VA) and Rep. Kathy Castor
(D-FL), held its fourth meeting to explore how recycling, domestic recovery,
and non-traditional sources can strengthen the sustainability and resilience of
critical mineral supplies vital to national industries and technologies. The
discussion covered recent advancements in recycling technologies, the economic
incentives to promote domestic recovery, and alternative sources of critical
minerals.

→ Congress is back to work after its August recess, tackling unfinished
defense spending measures, fixing a massive Department of Veterans Affairs
budget shortfall and passing a continuing resolution before Oct. 1, the start
of a new fiscal year.Rep. Rob Wittman, R-Va., said Sept. 4 Congress will likely
agree to a $833 billion defense spending topline for fiscal year 2025.

"I think we know we’re not going to get the seven remaining appropriations
bills done between now and the end of the fiscal year," he said at aDefense News
forum, adding that "it looks like there’s going to be another continuing
resolution that will come up next week, probably the middle of next week."

→ In Ukraine two weeks ago, after the air raid sirens blared, U.S. Rep. Rob
Wittman, R-1st, grabbed a camera and got some shots of Russian drones flying
into Kyiv — and started thinking even harder about a direction he feels the
U.S. military needs to go. There were a lot of drones, and they cost a lot less
to build than the second Virginia class attack submarine or the money for more
Gerald R. Ford class aircraft carriers built at Newport News Shipbuilding that
he pushed to fund in this year’s.
