The only way these megacorporations will EVER be forced to treat their workforce fairly is through working people uniting and rising up in massive numbers.
Working Families Party

John, happy May Day.

Today is International Workers’ Day — a day to remember the struggle for labor rights in this country and celebrate the courageous struggles of workers around the world for dignity and freedom.

Today also happens to be the day that workers from Amazon, Instacart, Whole Foods, Walmart, Target, and FedEx are courageously going on strike because their employers still aren’t taking their health and safety seriously during the COVID-19 pandemic despite raking in record profits. We need to join them in this fight.

Add your name in solidarity with these striking workers and join us in pledging not to cross their picket lines today. Together, we can send a strong message that we have their backs.

This pandemic continues to expose a pervasive and uncomfortable truth — that the workers we call essential are some of the most exploited, invisible, and marginalized workers in our society.

Without delay, these striking workers are asking for:

  • Compensation for all unpaid time off used since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March;

  • Hazard pay or paid sick leave to be provided for the duration of the pandemic;

  • Protective equipment and all cleaning supplies to be provided at all times by the company; and

  • Full corporate transparency on the number of cases in facilities.

The only way Amazon and other megacorporations will ever be forced to treat their workforce fairly is through working people uniting and rising up in massive numbers.

It’s also the only way we will be able to build the nation — and the world — we want to see.

This May Day, let’s show CEOs like Jeff Bezos who really has the power: us. Will you add your name in solidarity with striking workers and pledge not to shop from or use Amazon, Instacart, Whole Foods, Walmart, Target, and FedEx today?

In solidarity, today and every day,

Team WFP
