I swear, it was just July and then I turned around and all of a sudden it’s mid-September. But that means we’re knee-deep in the most critical months of this campaign. There are less than eight weeks to go until election day, and our whole team is sprinting to the finish line!
That’s a great thing, because it means that Wesley is getting out and talking to voters all across our state nearly every single day. Just this week he’s been to Greensboro, Raleigh, Charlotte, and Taylorsville, he’ll be in Statesville this afternoon, and then Spindale, Burnsville, Fletcher, and Pineville this weekend.
Wesley has been working through a packed schedule like an absolute champion – but he’s only one man, North Carolina is a big state, and he can only cover so much ground. I know he’s talked to you about the need to reach every single voter we can, and that means investing in other ways of reaching them.
We’re in the middle of making some of those big investments right now – in fact, I can’t tell you the specifics of what we’re meeting about, but tomorrow, we’re having one of the most important meetings of the campaign to discuss exactly that.
To be honest with you, John, I want to make sure that I can walk into that meeting knowing that we’re doing enough fundraising to push the boundaries on our strategy. I want to make sure that I can look Wesley in the eye and tell him that yes, we can afford to do everything this campaign needs to in order to win. But I can only do that if we can truly, really afford it.
You and Wesley have been through a lot together. All of us have. I know we’re all invested in seeing him win this seat so that we can do right by our state employees and bring opportunity back to every corner of our state – the Spindales and Fletchers and Burnsvilles of the world. But we need your support to make that happen. Our campaign is funded by grassroots contributions from everyday folks like you!
