Thirty million. That’s how many newly unemployed people we have in the United States thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic and the corrupt, incompetent response of the Trump administration.
These 30 million newly unemployed people, plus millions and millions of their fellow Americans, have bills due today that they don’t know how to pay. And many essential workers still working in grocery stores, warehouses, meat-packing plants, and on farms have jobs that don’t pay enough–under bosses pushing them to work in unsafe conditions during a pandemic.
From Amazon workers striking for safer working conditions, to undocumented communities who have been barred from stimulus assistance, to renters and homeowners demanding rent and mortgage cancellation, our fights are connected. We need a People's Bailout that includes all of us.
We must invest in our people, not corporate executives. We must chart a path to an economy that works for all, not a return to the unjust status quo.
