Dear John, Did you watch the presidential debate last night? Kamala Harris’ abortion extremism was on full display. She once again promised to codify Roe v. Wade, the wrongly-decided Supreme Court ruling that mandated legal abortion across the country. She also refused to express support for any protections for the unborn at any stage of pregnancy. Meanwhile, Donald Trump emphasized Harris’ radicalism on abortion, promoted his role in the overturning of Roe, and continued to frame the abortion issue as one for the states to resolve. He also said he supports exceptions to pro-life laws and backs IVF. Trump hasn’t gone as far on abortion as many pro-life advocates wish he would. His views, however, undoubtedly represent many Americans who may not be fully pro-life, but who certainly oppose Harris’ radical support for abortion on-demand throughout pregnancy. Americans really didn’t learn much new about either candidate during last night’s debate. But it’s clearer than ever that Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz would lead the most pro-abortion administration in U.S. history. Here at Oregon Right to Life, we’re keeping a close eye on the election and the implications it will have on our work to establish meaningful protections for the unborn here in our state. Thank you for your ongoing support – it truly means so much. Because everyone deserves an advocate, Lois Anderson |
