Friend in solidarity,

Every year across the world, thousands of workers die from heat-related illnesses and injuries.

It doesn’t have to be this way. The danger of heat stress to workers has been increasingly researched and covered in the media, but solutions often still remain focused on individual actions that have little effect, given the power dynamics in workplaces.

Join us for a webinar on Sept. 25, 2024 at 9 a.m. EDT, to learn about NEW research that shows how union membership in Cambodia’s garment, transport and street vendor sectors significantly improves resilience to heat impacts. ([link removed])

During the event, Dr. Laurie Parsons, a leading expert on the social, political and economic aspects of climate change, will discuss important takeaways from this research.

You’ll also hear from speakers who will share experiences from Cambodia and beyond to illustrate how worker organizing and collective bargaining are essential to effective climate adaptation measures.
