Last night we saw the difference between a candidate who wants to secure and protect our freedoms, and one who only wants to hold onto power for himself.
Donald Trump is still falsely claiming he won Georgia in the 2020 election, saying we need to “look at the facts.” But the facts are he lost Georgia by 11,779 votes and MAGA-backed members of the State Election Board are working behind the scenes in a way that could give Trump the power to veto our votes.
If anti-voter politicians gain power this year, they’ll double down on their voter suppression tactics for future elections. Election intimidation, harassing poll workers, voter ID legislation, and changing election rules at the last minute — they’ll stop at nothing to create more barriers to the ballot box.
This is a reminder that we all have an important role to play in protecting our democracy and fighting for our rights.
What can you do today to help? Check your voter registration, make a plan to vote, and get your family and friends involved – especially those who don’t normally vote.
