As we expected, Donald Trump made a lot of outrageous, misleading claims at last night’s debate. But, I want to talk about what he
didn’t say:
Trump once again refused to say whether he would veto a national abortion ban.
He dodged the straightforward question entirely, saying that it “doesn’t matter” because Congress “would never pass one.” Well, I think Americans everywhere would agree when I say that
it actually does matter.
Trump campaigned on a promise to overturn
Roe v. Wade, then proudly claimed credit when his hand-picked Supreme Court Justices did exactly that. And we know that a second term would all but guarantee anti-choice extremists can finish what they started and fully ban abortion nationwide.
