John,

In the last week, an American citizen was shot and killed by Israeli military forces in the West Bank, and multiple 2,000-lb bombs were dropped on tents of displaced people in Gaza, killing at least 40 Palestinians and injuring 60 more.

But none of that was acknowledged during last night’s presidential debate.

Once again, we heard empty words about this current administration “working around the clock” to achieve a ceasefire and release of hostages, with no action to back it up. In the same 24 hours, President Biden suggested that the death of 26-year-old American activist Ayşenur Ezgi Eygi — who was shot in the head by an Israeli sniper — was likely an accident.

The fact is the United States has continued to enable Netanyahu with weapons and bombs to carry out massacres against innocent people, even when American citizens are murdered in the process. The White House has done nothing to hold the right-wing Israeli government accountable for its war crimes against Palestinians and Americans alike.

Justice Democrats Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the only Palestinian-American in Congress, was right when she said:

Tweet from Rashida Tlaib: Dear Americans, If you are killed by the Israeli government, our country won’t care. No one will be held accountable. It doesn’t matter who you are, Israel can kill Americans and get away with it.

That has to change, John, and the only way it will is if we keep up the pressure on our leaders to listen to the people they represent and do what they were elected to.

It starts with an immediate, independent investigation into Ayşenur’s murder by the Israeli military. Add your name to demand the Biden administration start holding Netanyahu accountable and stop the senseless murder of more innocent people.

Add Your Name

We demand justice for Ayşenur, for the tens of thousands of innocent lives taken, for the hostages and their families, and for the millions of displaced and starving Palestinians waiting for the world to stop the genocide against them.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
