After watching the debate, a certain childless cat lady decided to chime
in with her thoughts. Taylor Swift has officially endorsed Kamala Harris.

Like many Americans, Taylor wants to cast her vote for a warrior who will
champion the issues that matter most – not someone who is stuck on
irrelevant things (like crowd sizes… something Taylor knows a lot about)
from the past.

This endorsement is huge, John.

Last night, Taylor Swift posted her endorsement to her 283M Instagram
followers and the post garnered almost 8 million likes in 9 hours.
Swifties tend to be younger – 63% of her fans are between 18-34 years old
– and they come out huge for the singer. From selling out areas to putting
the screws to Ticketmaster, Swifties are able to accomplish a lot. It’s
why they are a significantly influential voting bloc in the US.

Taylor encouraged her followers to do their research and register to vote.
Last year, Taylor made a similar post encouraging her fans to register to
vote. In the moments after, Vote.org reported over 35 thousand new voter
registrations.

Taylor Swift knows how to reach an audience – hell, she can actually fill
stadiums unlike someone else we know… But it is the influence she has over
young audiences that can help us turnout record numbers in this election.
Taylor Swift’s influence can help us cut through a crowded media
environment and reach voters who are tuned out of this pivotal election –
especially young folks who have the power to tilt this election in a big
way.

Even though it was clear as day that Kamala Harris won the debate last
night, this election is far from over. The polls still show this race as
too close for comfort especially in the few swing states that will
ultimately decide the election.
