Help this community heal

Friend —

Last week, 680 people were detained by ICE in Mississippi. It was the largest workplace raid in a decade, and they were purposely targeting Latinx workers.

We won’t parse words with you, team: this was an act of terrorism against our people and our communities.

So, we’re teaming up with local Mississippi groups who are doing the critical work on-the-ground to support immigrant communities terrorized by the shameful events of last week.

Can you click here to split a donation between the Mississippi Immigrants Rights Alliance, the Southeast Immigrant Rights Network, ACLU of Mississippi, El Pueblo Mississippi, MacArthur Justice Center, and Mississippi Center for Justice? Every dollar you give will allow these organizations to help impacted families and rebuild the lives of the children whose lives have forever been changed.

This was a complete and utter moral failure on behalf of the state of Mississippi. After school, children returned to empty homes where, scared and alone, they realized that their family’s worst nightmares had come true.

The trauma inflicted on these families is incalculable, and it will be a long time before the community heals. But it will also take a significant amount of resources.

This is where your contribution can make a direct impact on those who were affected by this act of terrorism last week. Chip in whatever you can afford right now and your donation will be split between six organizations volunteering legal services to local immigrants and undocumented people.

From the massacre in El Paso to the battalion of ICE agents abducting 680 workers, the Latinx and immigrant communities have been terrorized.

We must continue to care. We must continue to speak up. We must continue to fight back. And together, we will continue to walk the arduous path toward our freedom. Thanks for all you do,

Cynthia at United We Dream
