Honoring Heroes: A Tribute to Extraordinary Men of 9/11

In remembrance of the lives lost on 9/11, a powerful production was staged that portrayed the final moments of three remarkable men who gave their lives to save others. This tribute used a combination of historical video footage and live stage acting to tell the stories of these ordinary men who made extraordinary decisions in the face of evil.

When Elizabeth Muren set out to create this special tribute, she dedicated herself to studying documentaries and biographies to find the right stories. She chose three men—Daniel Mark Lewin, Welles Remy Crowther, and Todd Morgan Beamer—each of whom ran toward danger, not away from it. Elizabeth recognized that these men had made a decision long before that fateful day not to flee from a fight, and she wanted to honor their courage and sacrifice.

This production is a tribute to their courage, a call for us to stand firm in the face of darkness, and an inspiration for each of us to live out our faith with courage and conviction.
