More people need help than ever before.
As people stay home to help slow the spread of COVID-19, many are seeing another crisis emerge right in their family’s safe haven. Mental health and substance use issues are soaring, with isolation, hypervigilance, financial hardships and the pandemic’s uncertain duration and outcome taking their toll on even the healthiest among us.
For people most susceptible to addiction, anxiety and depression, this might be the most challenging time of their lives. Families are seeing the power of addiction up close as their loved ones struggle to cope, sometimes putting themselves at greater risk just to maintain a steady supply of mood- and mind-altering substances.
We are here to help you get your patients, clients and employees the lifesaving care they need.
Our residential and recovery housing sites are all open nationwide, with significant safeguards to protect the health of our patients and clinical teams. Our safeguards have worked phenomenally well, enabling us to keep COVID-19 out of our facilities, so that patients are focused on treatment and recovery. Soon we will add to our rigorous safety measures by testing all incoming patients for COVID-19, using a nasopharyngeal swab that has proven to be the best and most reliable test available at this time. We are pleased to collaborate with multiple partner labs to make testing possible and add an extra layer of safety for our patients and staff.
We have continued to be a force of healing and hope throughout the pandemic because of our commitment to both the recovery and safety of our patients and their families. We look forward to helping the people you serve through this challenging time and beyond.

Help Us Advocate
Hazelden Betty Ford is part of a broad coalition of behavioral health organizations and patient advocacy groups asking Congress for crisis funding to help ensure patients in need continue to get services during the pandemic. We are working with our trade association, the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers, to advocate for $38.5 billion in proposed direct payments to organizations providing mental health and substance use disorder treatment. While this request has strong bipartisan support within our field and among many
members of Congress, every segment of society is asking for pandemic-related assistance. You can help by thanking your own U.S. Senators and Representative if they have signed on in support of emergency funding for behavioral health organizations or by asking for their support.
