There is a disturbing growth of totalitarianism in previously free countries to which Americans need to be paying attention, especially since the Democrats' presidential candidate is ideologically aligned with these movements. As David Harsanyi ([link removed]) warns, Great Britain's and Brazil's governments are cracking down on free speech in unprecedented ways (except in Communist China and the former Soviet Union, of course). We say this could never happen here, but Kamala Harris is already on record as saying she wants to shut down online speech she doesn't like - this after publicly admiring mandatory gun buy-back initiatives. In 2019, Vice President Kamala Harris told CNN’s Jake Tapper that social media companies “are directly speaking to millions and millions of people without any level of oversight or regulation and it has to stop.”

Does it?

Every two-bit authoritarian in history has justified censoring its citizens as a way of protecting them from the menace of disinformation.
