Dear Friend,

As Hurricane Francine approaches Mississippi, I wanted to send out an email with resources and information for you. There is the possibility for heavy rainfall, flash flooding, and possible tornadoes. Be prepared for severe weather and potential power outages. Mississippi Emergency Management Agency is posting updates on social media. Be sure to follow MEMA for more information.

To prepare for the storm, be sure to gather your disaster supply kit as recommended by MEMA:

A disaster supply kit should contain:

♦ At least 3 Day Supply of Non-Perishable Food and Water (more is encouraged)

♦ Flashlight with Extra Batteries

♦ Medication

♦ Copies of Important Documents (Birth Certificate, Passport, Marriage License, etc.)

♦ Extra Cash

♦ First Aid Kit

Check out the MEMA website for what to do during and after a hurricane.

Here is the MEMA disaster guide.

Please do not underestimate forecasts of severe weather.  Stay safe, stay informed, and follow all safety guidance. My staff and I will continue to keep in touch with our Mississippi leaders, the Governor's Office, and national agencies as the storm progresses.

Stay safe,

Would you like to stay up-to-date with information related to severe weather and my work in Mississippi and Washington?
