Dear friend –
Today, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost 23 years ago in the
September 11th attacks. This solemn day will forever be etched in our hearts,
and our thoughts remain with the families and loved ones who still carry the
weight of that tragedy.
Today is also a time to recognize the extraordinary courage and heroism that
emerged in the face of terror. First responders risked everything to save
lives, and countless ordinary individuals stepped up to help their fellow
Americans. Their bravery continues to inspire us.
As we reflect on that day, we also renew our commitment to unity and service.
This anniversary reminds us of our nation's resilience when we come together,
and it calls us to continue building bridges within our communities. Especially
now, we are reminded of how strong we can be when we stand united.
In 2020, I introduced a resolution to designate September 11th as a national
day of service, encouraging everyone to participate in charitable acts of their
choice. It’s a meaningful way to honor those we lost and strengthen our bonds
as a nation.
Today, I hope you’ll take a moment to reflect on the significance of being
part of this incredible country and consider giving back in a way that uplifts
our collective spirit.
