Dear USO Supporter,

Today we pause to remember.

Twenty-three years ago, our nation faced an unimaginable tragedy on September 11 — a day that left deep scars on the heart of America. Whether we lost loved ones or a piece of ourselves, we continue to reflect on that dark day and how, in our nation’s hour of greatest need, we stood together as one.

On this National Day of Service and Remembrance, we honor the memory of the 2,977 lives taken from us. We thank the first responders and all those who courageously answered the call to serve and help save hundreds of lives. We also salute those who have since stepped up to protect and defend our country. Your country is forever grateful.

Since that fateful day in 2001, thousands of brave Americans have enlisted in the Armed Forces. They’ve made life-changing sacrifices, leaving behind their loved ones, setting aside their personal ambitions and risking their lives for the freedoms we hold dear.

Today, we remember those we’ve lost and honor the dedication of all our heroes in uniform who have served — and who continue to serve our country every day.

Thank you for being a part of this community of dedicated military supporters. On a day like today, I’m proud to stand united with you.

With solemn gratitude,

J.D. Crouch II
CEO & President, USO

P.S. Join us as we collect 50,000 signatures honoring our service members on this important day. If you haven’t signed the card yet, please add your name to honor these heroes.
