Dear friend,
On September 11th, 2001, our nation changed forever. It has been 23 years, but the pain of that day is still fresh in our hearts and minds.
Today, we commemorate the nearly 3,000 innocent lives taken too soon – the mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, friends, and colleagues who never returned home. We honor their memories and continue to hold their families close in our hearts. Their stories, their lives, and their legacies are woven into the fabric of our nation, and we will never forget.
9/11 is a day that unites us all in shared grief, reflection, and, importantly, remembrance. For those of us who watched in horror as the tragic events unfolded, the images of that day remain etched in our minds. We remember where we were, who we were with, and the deep sense of loss and grief that swept across our country.
But in the weeks and months following 9/11, we also witnessed the incredible strength of the American spirit. Our nation came together – people of every background, every faith, every corner of this great land – to support one another in ways that still inspire us today. That spirit of unity, empathy, and love for our neighbors is what makes our country strong.
As we reflect on this day, let us also honor the resilience of those who survived, the families who rebuilt, and the communities that continue to heal. September 11th taught us that even in the face of unimaginable tragedy, we can find hope, courage, and unity. Let’s carry those lessons with us today and every day.
Thank you,
Lori Trahan
