UE Local 115 at the Refresco bottling plant in Wharton, New Jersey is demanding that Refresco immediately reinstate Licinia Ochoa. Ochoa has worked at Refresco for over 25 years and was one of the key leaders during our union campaign. As retaliation for her leadership, Refresco has “lost” Licinia's immigration paperwork and terminated her employment.
Refresco has used internal immigration audits to intimidate their mostly immigrant workers. The local negotiated an agreement with the company requiring advance notice to the union workers prior to implementing the audit. However, the company has refused to sign it, and they are not following the agreement to place affected workers on unpaid leave instead of firing them, or giving workers the proper notification of an audit.
Add your name today to UE Local 115's petition to demand Refresco reinstate Licinia Ochoa, sign the negotiated agreement with the local, and stop harassing union leaders and members!
