Today marks 23 years since the largest terrorist attack on our nation’s soil. As a veteran, this day hits especially hard.
I fought overseas in the United States Armed Forces to protect our freedoms and keep our country safe from harm. Watching the attack on the Twin Towers that morning, I was devastated. I felt the loss of each family who lost someone they loved.
In the aftermath, our country chose to come together instead of giving into fear. Our reaction in the days after this tragedy serves as an important reminder of our country’s strength when we choose unity over division. It’s up to us to continue making that choice each day.
I hope you’ll join me in taking a moment to reflect on the lives lost on this day 23 years ago and resolving to honor their memories by continuing to reject fear and division.
