Dear John,
Today we seek your support for an exciting initiative launched by Lawyers Defending American Democracy in partnership with an extraordinary group of young voters committed to strengthening democracy and enhancing our rights.
Students Strengthening American Democracy [[link removed]] is based on a simple pledge with two components: a commitment to volunteer for a pro-democracy organization while in school, and a commitment to vote in federal, state and local elections.
Our goal is ambitious. By reaching students throughout the country, we hope to develop a new generation of informed and civically minded members of their communities who will engage locally, state-wide, and nationally.
This outreach has already begun on college campuses across the country with promising responses. But much work remains to ensure these efforts come to fruition, and your donations will help provide the resources we need to be successful.
We are asking all of our supporters for a donation of any size to ensure our launch of this effort is successful during these critical fall months. And if you have never donated to LDAD before, we hope you will see this as the perfect opportunity to make that first contribution.

You may still register for LDAD’s upcoming webinar on September 18 at 5:00 pm Eastern. The program will feature a timely conversation between UCLA School of Law Professor Scott Cummings and Boston Globe Senior Opinion Writer and Columnist Kimberly Atkins Stohr about backsliding democracies and ways in which lawyers enable – and are even complicit in – the creation of autocracies.
