there,
It has been 23 years since the unspeakable events of September 11, 2001.
Like most of you reading this, I remember the feelings I had that day very
well. The shock, the anger, the stomach-turning fear, and the deep
sadness.
But in the days following the attacks, there was also a feeling of hope. I
watched as strangers became neighbors who reached out to one another to
make sure those in our community were okay.
The walls we put up were gone, and we saw each other without the labels of
political parties or race or orientation. We knew the only way to survive
was to come together -- and that is exactly what we did.
Stand Up was created to bring people together and fight against the forces
that wish to divide us. So I hope that today, in memory of all those we
lost, we take a moment to reflect and to remember how much we need each
other.
To our team members who lost loved ones in the attacks of September 11 or
the wars that followed, we extend our sincerest condolences.
We are here for you.
