John — 9/11 is a somber day for all Americans, and especially for my generation of veterans.

I was a Marine reservist on the morning of 9/11. About four years later I deployed to Iraq in the Global War on Terror. It changed my life forever.

After I came home I ran for Congress to help the people I served with. What I found was that our country had fallen short of the commitments it made to the few who serve. I took it on myself to smooth their transition home, to make sure they got recognition, that they and their families got the services they earned, the care they needed.

We’ve made great strides since then, investing in the VA and providing additional support to help veterans find work and return to civilian life. We got the PACT Act across the finish line, delivering much needed care for veterans suffering serious illness from toxic exposures. But there’s more work to be done.

After all that progress, the worst possible thing that can happen would be to hand power back to people like Donald Trump and Kari Lake.

We’re moving year-end budget proposals in Congress and the Republican starting point includes a shortfall of $12 billion for the VA. Seriously. That’s care for veterans who served that will be unfunded. That’s their priority, and it’s a slap in the face.

Trump has made his feelings about the people who serve absolutely clear. He called Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice “suckers” and “losers,” he’s attacked Gold Star families, denigrated the Medal of Honor, and he held a campaign photo-op at our most sacred national cemetery, Arlington. We’re props to him, nothing more.

Trump can never again become Commander in Chief, and we cannot allow people like Kari Lake to hand him a Senate Majority.

I’m doing everything I can to prevent that from happening, because this is the most important election of our lifetime. Today, it would mean the world to me if you could stand with me.

Can you take a few seconds and add your name to the thousands of others who have personally endorsed my campaign for U.S. Senate? I’m going to need a massive team behind me to be successful, and it would mean a lot to have you with me.

ADD YOUR NAME

Thanks for listening. And Semper Fi.
