We want to share a story with you that has encouraged our staff at IJM to remember just how powerful prayer can be.
Back in 2018, more than one year after opening the Bangkok field office, our team had yet to complete a successful rescue operation there. You can imagine how distressing this was. Day after day, they were witnessing the realities of violence and slavery, but felt powerless to do anything about it.
They had exhausted almost every option and were losing hope. What else could they do?
When the team learned of a young man who had been trapped and abused on a ship for four years, they continued working on the case, and they continued to pray. Every day. And in July 2019, our team conducted their first successful rescue alongside local police. God answered those prayers, John. And one week later, the team made a second rescue.
That’s the power of prayer. That’s the power that we have when we seek God, and it’s why we’re asking you to pray with us on May 16.
If you stand with us and ask the Lord for justice, and keep asking until justice is done, we know that together, we can create unstoppable change.
Will you join us for this online prayer event on Saturday, May 16?
