Hey — if this email added to a pile of messages from Democratic campaigns in your inbox, please know I feel your pain (and also, I’m honored this is the email you chose to open).

I’ll be honest with you. I’m going to make the case in this email for why I need you to donate to my campaign today. If you’re already all-in, here’s a link to pitch in. But if you need more, I don’t blame you, and here are three good reasons.

1) For the moment, we have an ad on TV, but we need your help to keep it on air. I’m proud of this ad. It’s all about my commitment to lowering costs for Oregon families — and if we’re going to win this race, we need to work as hard as possible to get that message out to voters.

2) We also need to turn out every single voter we can — by reminding them of the stakes of this election for our fundamental freedoms. I’m committed to making sure everyone in OR-06 knows what will happen if we allow MAGA Republicans to succeed in passing a national abortion ban. If you’re committed to that, too, then please pitch in to help fund our GOTV efforts.

3) We need to put a dent in the GOP’s spending advantage in this district. Not only am I up against a multimillionaire opponent, but ad reservations by GOP super PACs in this media market currently combine for over $11 million. We’re not going to make up that difference with one big check, but if everyone reading this email pitches in what they can, that will go a LONG way to level the playing field.

I know that when you receive an email like this, it’s easy to wonder if donating your hard-earned money will actually move the needle at all. The fact is, in this district — where polling shows a statistical tie and control of the House of Representatives is riding on the outcome — please know that your contribution will have a big impact, even all you can spare is $5. Can I count on you to pitch in today?
