The Trump administration's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is considering reauthorizing the use of bee-killing pesticides.[1]
The pesticides in question, called neonicotinoids, or neonics, are highly toxic to bees. The latest research finds that baby bumblebees' exposure to neonics causes lasting brain damage, impairing their future ability to navigate and forage.[2]
Given the dire consequences for our environment, we should be doing all we can to protect bees and other pollinators from neonics. That's why Environment Colorado and our national network are petitioning the EPA to ban the worst uses of neonics.

Bees are nature's best pollinators.[3] Nearly 90 percent of all wild flowering plants depend on bees, butterflies and other animals for pollination.[4] Without bees, the number and diversity of flowering plants will sharply decline, with dangerous consequences for all ecosystems.
Fortunately, we currently have the opportunity to ensure our most important pollinators are protected from -- not poisoned by -- neonics.
The EPA is currently accepting public input on the decision to reapprove neonics, and it's obligated to review and consider comments. By adding your name, you'll help build the necessary support to convince the EPA to protect pollinators from toxic pesticides.
