Click the image to learn more. Helping Youth Find Their Voice Social distancing is the new normal, but we still need to be heard. Youth working in Prevention feel that need as well. National Prevention Week is upon us, so now is the time to train your youth on finding their voice. The Alcohol Policy Resource Center has a Youth – Your Voice Counts series with tips on Educating Elected Officials, Educating on Policy, and Partnering with Law Enforcement. The APRC can provide Technical Assistance on helping your youth find their voice. DEA launches 'Secure Your Meds' campaign DEA holds its National Prescription Drug Take Back Day twice a year. However, because of the coronavirus pandemic, DEA postponed the take back day originally scheduled for April 25 and launched an awareness campaign instructing Americans to safely 'Secure Your Meds' for the next National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, on a date to be determined. Illegal ID Detection The use of illegal ID’s to obtain alcohol and other identity-based crimes have been on the rise in recent years. Fraudulent ID’s can be easily purchased online, many times from overseas sources. Communities are encouraged to put in place consistent, hands-on measures to combat the use of fake ID’s. During this webinar, participants will examine the magnitude of the problem, review the varying types of fake ID’s, learn where fraudulent ID’s are sourced, learn the unintended consequences of usage, identify effective enforcement, and learn what prevention strategies can be implemented.
