The presidential candidates are taking the debate stage tonight. But we don’t need a debate to know that the climate crisis must be a critical part of the conversation.

We just passed 15 pieces of landmark climate legislation here in California, and it’s only because we’ve elected political leaders who will stand up to corporate polluters and take bold action to protect our future.

This was a victory -- but we can’t stop here. A majority of legislators still take direct money from Big Oil, and we need to make sure we’re electing climate champions who will stand up to them. Will you help us elect candidates who have proven they have the political will to support policy solutions to the climate crisis?

The truth is that climate change transcends state lines -- and when we enact climate justice laws in California, it impacts all surrounding communities and sets a precedent for other leaders.

We’ve proven we can win historic climate victories -- like the $10 billion climate bond we successfully landed on the ballot this November. And we can continue leading the climate movement nationwide by sending lawmakers focused on protecting our environment and fighting for a clean economy to Sacramento.

California Environmental Voters has been working hard to identify and support climate champions up and down the ballot who will fight for our climate future. No matter where you live, your contribution can make a difference.

We need everyone to pitch in. By sending these climate champions to Sacramento, we can continue to make huge strides in safeguarding our environment.

Our Give Green tool helps you support California Senate, Assembly, and local candidates who align with your environmental priorities. Before tonight’s debate, will you chip in to tell these climate leaders that you’ve got their backs?
