Team,

The frontline workers who continue to show up, day in, day out — food workers, grocery clerks, delivery drivers, cashiers, truckers, home care workers, warehouse stockers — are essential in every sense of the word.

They’re keeping things going for our state and for our country. And they deserve safer working conditions, paid sick leave, and hazard pay. But unfortunately, many of their employers won’t budge, even though they’re taking in massive profits during the COVID-19 pandemic.

That's why today, on this International Workers' Day, workers at Amazon, Whole Foods, Instacart, Target, Shipt, FedEx, and Walmart are going on strike. I want to make sure they know we have their backs.

These workers need more than our gratitude — they need our support. Add your name in solidarity if you agree: It’s on every one of us to protect the health and well-being of workers and their families.

What these workers are asking for isn’t unreasonable:

Hazard pay or paid sick leave to be provided for the duration of the pandemic;
Protective equipment and all cleaning supplies to be provided at all times by the company;
Full corporate transparency on the number of cases in the facilities they have to go to work every day; and
Compensation for all unpaid time off used since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March.
If there ever was a moment to rethink the way companies treat their workers, the time is now.

Together, we can ensure that we’re protecting the lives and dignity of those who are on the front lines — and that’s what I’ll fight for if you send me to Congress. But we need to have these workers’ backs now:

Add your name to our petition in solidarity with striking essential workers at Amazon, Whole Foods, Instacart, Target, Shipt, FedEx, and Walmart. Let’s show corporate CEOs that we have the power this May Day. >> [link removed]

In solidarity,

Julie
