Families and children are facing new problems every year with the changing environment – flooding, worsening heatwaves, polluted air, more invasive bugs like ticks and spotted lantern flies, and the list goes on.
Black, Brown, and low-income families are hardest hit because their communities have historically been skipped over, and these communities experience higher levels of asthma and health problems.
There are solutions to these problems. Planting trees and increasing green spaces in cities lowers temperatures, modern infrastructure reduces flooding, and switching to clean energy reduces pollution. We scored a huge victory with the passage two years ago today of the Inflation Reduction Act to fund these kind of projects, but funds for one key program are only available on a first-come, first-served basis, so we need to tell our local leaders to act now!
Don’t let your local officials leave money on the table. We need them to be proactive, apply for these funds, and use them to protect our communities. Please send a message and then share this action and make voices from Philadelphia
heard!
