CNL SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER

What We're Up To

Last month, CNL hosted a Reception and Watch Party with special guest Rep. Scott Peters (CA-50) at the Democratic National Convention. We were honored to be a part of the historic moment when VP Kamala Harris accepted the nomination, and we’re thrilled to bring the positive energy that came from the DNC to our local chapter election efforts!

Last week, we helped organize the YIMBYs for Harris call and were joined by 30,000+ viewers who raised over $136k for the Harris-Walz campaign! After VP Kamala Harris announced her goal of building 3 million housing units in her first term, pro-housing activists are getting excited about a Harris-Walz administration in the White House. Our favorite pro-housing electeds such as Governor Jared Polis, Rep. Scott Peters, Rep. Brittany Pettersen, State Rep. Analise Ortiz, State Sen. Scott Wiener, as well as our very own Co-Founder, Jeremiah Johnson, and card-carrying New Liberal Olivia Julianna, joined the YIMBYs for Harris call to discuss the importance of housing abundance policies!

Member Highlight - Donald Tlaka

Every month, we highlight a member of the Center for New Liberalism who is doing exceptional work in their community in The Home Base [[link removed]], a blog from our partner, New Democracy. This month, we’re highlighting Donald Tlaka, the Chapter Lead of the Johannesburg New Liberals.

Click the button below to learn more about Donald and his efforts to advance liberalism in Johannesburg.

Closing Remarks

The 2024 election season is kicking into full gear and the general election continues to get closer every month. There’s a lot at stake in this year’s election, and it’s more important than ever for all of us to do the work to continue advancing our pragmatic agenda in our local communities and get people to the ballot box in November.

If you aren’t already involved, we encourage you to get more involved with your local CNL chapter, and consider joining their leadership team! Not sure if you have a chapter in your area? Check out the chapter map on our website to find out, and sign up for email updates from your local chapter!
