Dear John xxxxxx,

First, let me share how much I hope that you and yours are safe and well, as together we continue to adapt to and cope with the impact of the pandemic on our lives and families, workplaces and communities, and on our country and the world.

One thing is clear: the importance of our work is laid starkly bare by the spread of COVID-19. Immigrants, people who are incarcerated or detained, people without homes, those among us who live in poverty, and people of color are among the hardest hit by this pandemic, and by the harmful narratives of blame that have accompanied it.

Social justice leaders need the resources to continue speaking up effectively to disrupt these harmful narratives and injustices. Together, we need to tell new stories of how we can be stronger together. Our research, tools, recommendations, and trainings, are crucial resources during this deeply challenging time.

You can help sustain our ability to provide these resources. We know that everyone has been affected in different ways by this pandemic, and understand that you may not be in a position to make a financial contribution now. If you can, your support is greatly appreciated.

You can also support the work by engaging in our shared efforts to change the story. View our toolkit for tips and strategies on how to talk about COVID-19.

Some of the work we launched prior to the outbreak now feels even more relevant:

On behalf of The Opportunity Agenda, I send you best wishes for healthy weathering of the COVID-19 storm. We will continue to be in touch, and we invite you to do the same.

My best,

Ellen Buchman
President

P.S. The more people there are spreading stories of community, justice and opportunity, the better. Won’t you join us? Make a contribution here. Check out our communication tools here.
