Tell the Senate:
"Donald Trump just nominated a Secretary of Labor who has spent his career fighting the Department of Labor, consistently siding with corporations, CEOs and shareholders over the rights of working people. We demand that the U.S. Senate reject the nomination of Eugene Scalia as Secretary of the Department of Labor."

Eugene Scalia may sound like he’s trading on his father’s name for Trump to pick him to be the next Secretary of Labor.
But Scalia, whose father is the late pro-corporation Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, has his own legacy of putting Wall Street before workers.
And the Secretary of Labor is a trustee of our Social Security system, meaning that Scalia will have a hand in the Trustees Report. Scalia has shown that he’s happy to do Wall Street’s bidding, and Wall Street wants nothing more than to get their hands on Social Security’s $2.9 trillion trust fund.
ADD YOUR NAME: Tell the Senate to OPPOSE Eugene Scalia’s nomination as Secretary of Labor.
While Scalia couldn’t hand over the trust fund directly to Wall Street, this is another worrying sign that the Trump administration is seeking to undermine Social Security from within.
In 2003, as George W. Bush geared up for his privatization scheme, language was inserted into every American’s Social Security earnings statement specifically designed to lower confidence in Social Security’s future. As Secretary of Labor, Scalia could do the same.
We need people in charge of Social Security who are loyal to the American people, not Donald Trump and Wall Street. We have no confidence that Eugene Scalia will be on the right side.
TELL THE SENATE: Oppose Eugene Scalia’s nomination as Secretary of Labor.
Eugene Scalia’s career to date is an unblemished record of defending corporate interests, including helping:
Walmart defeat a law that would have forced the company to pay for health care for its employees
Casinos avoid security tips for employees
Fighting OSHA rules to protect worker safety
Trump’s Department of Labor has already become a Department of Corporate Exploitation. They have fought a livable wage, helped Wall Street scam retirees, and helped companies buddy up to union-busting firms. Scalia will fit in perfectly there. And that’s why we must defeat him.
SIGN NOW: Tell the Senate to oppose Eugene Scalia’s nomination as Secretary of Labor.
Thanks,
