Team,
We have a big announcement: the Groundwork Organizer Network is growing!
Thanks to the contributions of this grassroots team, five new Groundwork partners will receive year-round support to fuel their organizing efforts across the Deep South, Appalachia, and the Plains.
We’re excited to share specifics on the work they’re doing to strengthen our democracy and advocate for fundamental rights and freedoms, but before we do that, we need to ask: Can you pitch in $10 today? Your donation makes all of this possible.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Here’s how your 💵 becomes 💪 through local organizing:
- The West Virginia Trans Coalition is dedicated to supporting transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming West Virginians through advocacy, mutual aid, and direct action. Being on the frontlines of anti-LGBTQ+ efforts, their work will make a positive impact and uplift a chronically under-served community.
- The Young West Virginia Power Building Movement is a youth-led organization focused on increasing civic engagement and empowering Black West Virginians. Their outreach covers multiple counties throughout the state, creating ample opportunities for progress.
- Rock the Native Vote in Oklahoma is dedicated to connecting with an often overlooked community by registering Native American voters and raising awareness on the variety of issues on the ballot that impact their lives.
- The Countywide Family Development Center in Mississippi has led voter engagement efforts for nearly two decades. They’re planning on expanding their efforts to more counties throughout the Magnolia State, focusing specifically on registering young voters in rural areas.
- The Huntsville Bail Fund based in Alabama is focused on expanding beyond bail support to wrap communities with year-round support, organizing and advocacy. During the aftermath of George Floyd’s murder, they made sure individuals could exercise their First Amendment right to protest and helped those who were wrongfully arrested.
The work our partners are doing right now is foundational to protecting our democracy and building toward a better future for all. We’re so proud to support their efforts, and all year long, they’ll be making progress in places where it matters most.
Expanding our partner program means our financial needs also ramp up. If you can, please pitch in $10 today to help us continue sustaining and growing our organizing network.
Thank you so much,
— Groundwork Project
