John,
As New York City Comptroller, I’m fighting to ensure that pharmaceutical giants like Walmart and Costco do their duty to provide lifesaving medication abortion for women who need it.
But anti-abortion activists across the country aren’t happy about it — and they’re pushing back.
Before I explain more, will you rush a contribution of any amount to my campaign so I can continue fighting to defend abortion access? [[link removed]]
According to the New York Post , financial officers from 14 different states — all of which currently have restrictive abortion bans in place — sent a letter to Costco’s CEO urging him to ignore my calls for Costco to provide the commonly-used medication abortion mifepristone through their pharmacies.

Well, John, the Post is certainly right about this: I won’t back down from calling on Walmart and Costco — where the City’s pension funds are big investors — to offer mifepristone to their customers in states where it’s legal.
By refusing to become certified mifepristone dispensers, companies like Costco and Walmart put both women’s reproductive health care and investors’ money at risk.
I’ll always fight to make New York City a national champion for accessible reproductive health care, but I can’t do this alone. If you’re with me, will you make a contribution of any amount to my campaign for Mayor? [[link removed]]
