Dear Friend,
As Congress returns to Washington, D.C. following the August district work period, we wanted to give a short update on our work in the district over the last few weeks.
We had the chance to stop by Coborn’s Grocery Store in Delano to meet with their team. During our visit, we discussed the economic impact of independent, employee-owned grocery stores and the importance of family-run businesses. They even took the time to create this very cool vegetable art for our visit!
Later, we had the opportunity to sit down with Mayor Shelly Jonas and local leaders from Annandale. During our meeting, we discussed how we can work together to ensure that Annandale and Wright County have the transportation infrastructure needed to continue attracting families, good-paying jobs, and new opportunities for community members.
We also met Annandale Police Chief Peter Standafer. Chief Standafer is doing an outstanding job in Annandale! We were grateful for the opportunity to meet with him to discuss his work in the community and thank him for his service and dedication.
Finally, our office hosted our third Veterans’ Resource Fair of 2024, this time in Anoka County. During the event, attendees heard from our legislative and casework teams about current legislation and the resources our office can provide to support our veterans. We were also joined by former Sherburne County Veterans Service Officer Bruce Price and representatives from the National Association of Atomic Veterans who shared updates on the work their organizations do on veterans’ behalf.
While there is always more work to be done in Washington, D.C., serving the people of Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District will always be our top priority. If our office can ever be of assistance to you or your family, please reach out to our Otsego office at (763) 241-6848 or our Chaska office at (952) 262-2999 or visit our website at emmer.house.gov.
Sincerely,
