May 1, 2020

Dear Friends,

For many of us, today is the end of week seven (or more) of a near-global lockdown. What’s clearer now than seven weeks ago, is that this community of gender-justice funders has the power and vision to rapidly adapt strategies to move relief out quickly.  Together we can keep pushing for structural systems change, while moving money quickly to the areas of highest need.

This #GivingTuesday we need to prioritize our women’s funds. Find your women’s fund, and support the operations of this critical part of our communities.

In Solidarity,

-WFN Staff

This week the Women’s Funding Network launched the #SignalForHelp Initiative in the United States. The Signal For Help is a simple hand sign that survivors can use to signal to anyone on the other side of a video call that they are in danger. Today’s article from NPR highlights yet again the need for more resources and support for organizations on the frontlines of domestic violence. Please visit our website for resources on the signal and what to do if you are in danger or know someone in danger, our GoogleDrive of social media resources, Press Release on the initiative and the Vogue article this week highlighting the initiative.
