The North Carolina State Board of Elections appealed a decision ordering them to reprint ballots to remove Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as a listed presidential candidate because it would further delay the start of absentee voting in the state.
The federal deadline to send absentee ballots to voters in a presidential election is Sept. 21, but vendors have said reprinting ballots could take another 12 to 13 days, so despite their best efforts, the state may have to request a waiver to the deadline.
